Her bicycle is a minimal, bnkcless track machine, equipped with the Simpson Lever Chain, which many wrongly thought gave a mechanical advantage over standard chains. She rode professionllly for the makers of the chain. Helene Dutrieu had ln outstanding cycling career before tak ing to mOior sport and aviation.
